New Membrane
Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company and building products manufacturer, announced the launch of EPDM FIT Self Adhered (SA). The new solution offers contractors installation times that are up to three times faster than traditionally adhered membranes.
“The introduction of self-adhering EPDM is a game changer for contractors by speeding up the installation time and widening the temperature window for installation,” said Matt Sayer, Johns Manville Single Ply Portfolio Manager. “The factory-applied adhesive makes this a true peel-and-stick solution that eliminates the wait time for adhesive flash off.”
EPDM FIT SA is ideal for hospitals and schools because there is no need for VOC-containing adhesives. It features UL and FM approvals and has excellent green strength with a high bond strength throughout the life of the system. The split-release liner helps to speed installation time and delivers a labor-saving solution for installers
The black EPDM membrane is available in a 60 millimeter thickness, can be adhered in temperatures of 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above without the use of additional adhesives or primers, and features factory inseam tape for superior quality assurance and labor savings when compared to field-fabricated seams. It has exceptional lay flat capabilities that result in an aesthetically pleasing finished product. The membrane is available in 10 ft. by 100 ft. rolls.
